(continued)
Prominent horses consigned by Stone Farm as young horses include
classic winners like FUSAICHI PEGASUS (1998 Keeneland July Yearling,
$4,000,000), RISEN STAR (1986 Keeneland July Yearling, $210,000),
and SUNDAY SILENCE (1987 Keeneland July Yearling, $17,000).
We've been equally successful with broodMs or broodM prospects, and
our consignments have included such top raceMs as Kentucky Oaks-G1
winners PRINCESS ROONEY (1985 Keeneland November, $5,500,000) and
GOODBYE HALO (1990 Keeneland January, $2,100,000).
Numerous other stakes winners have passed through our consignment
over the years and include DEPOSIT TICKET (G1), NO MATTER WHAT (G1),
and many more. Current stars include ALANNAN, winner of the Commonwealth
Breeders' Cup H.-G2 and the Churchill Downs H.-G2 this spring, and
E Dubai, who wired an allowance field by 12 ½ lengths and then finished
second in the Peter Pan S.-G2 only two weeks later.
Although we have focused primarily on Kentucky sales over the years,
2001 commemorates the first consignment in history by Stone Farm to
the Saratoga Select Yearling Sale. The event marks the first time
a member of the Hancock family has sold at Saratoga in nearly 60 years.
In 1942, Hancock's grandfather, Arthur B. Hancock Sr., had his last
Saratoga consignment before shifting to Keeneland due to World War
II travel restrictions.
We Sell Only What We Raise
